This is an unofficial local history website dedicated to the beauty and history of a once proud and important area, here you will find most of what you need to know about one of Lancashire’s most beautiful country parks and its history; you’ll even discover its many hidden treasures too.

Witton Country Park truly is one of if not the best and most beautiful Parks I have ever seen it’s also home to a great many plants, mushrooms like Fly Agarics, Blushers and Shaggy Ink Cap and animals like: Roe Dears, Red Dears, Pheasants, Ducks and squirrels to name but a few.

So if you are ever in the area or want somewhere to explore or even to walk your dog then look no further because you have found such a place so please have a look and you’ll find all the information here, below are pictures taken in witton country park of a fly agaric (amanita muscaria) mushroom, the lilly pond and wild fox gloves.
