There are many public houses in the local area - excellent after a day’s trek in the sun! At Billinge, the CLOG AND BILLYCOCK is a popular drinking spot. Further on, in Pleasington, THE BUTLERS’ ARMS and THE RAIILWAY HOTEL offer good food, drink and ‘craic’, at feniscowles, with THE FIELDENS’ ARMS is also well supplied. Cherry Tree, with THE BEEHIVE HOTEL and THE STATION HOTEL and Witton, featuring ST. MARK’S Conservative Club, and the THE WITTON INN, there are many other pubs are also handy, and with many local Bed and Breakfasts and much-frequented Blackburn, Mellor, Nabs Head, Hoghton and Samlesbury also offering the chance of good ale, this area is indeed rich in this sense! In addition, most offer good food and the chance to play pool and relax.



Playing Fields at Pleasington...




In Pleasington, the King George VI Playing Fields are situated. These offer the attractions of good walks, football, cricket, athletics and much else besides, there is also PLEASINGTON GOLF CLUB. Nearby, there are several bowling greens, a Cricket and Tennis Club at Cherry Tree, a Recreation Ground at Feniscowles and many other attractions beside. The local townships are on both road and railway, and this area is well known in the Blackburn area.



At Witton…




At witton there is are playing fields, the old pavilion (which is a cafe) and the visitors centre just around the corner, the area also has football pitches, cricket pitches and an all-weather football pitch to offer, there is also an athletics track all rather grand in the summer when relaxing and having fun.
